| JuniorWatch.com is a new service. However, it shares the same engine with its sister service LockItTight.com, which has been up for more than a year with over 20,000 users world wide. You can expect JuniorWatch to have the same level of robustness as LockItTight.com. |
Why is my location not accurate? |
| When surrounding wi-fi signals are insufficient, the positioning method falls back to IP geo-mapping, which is much less accurate. Please make sure your wi-fi interface is on. We use Skyhook’s WPS (WiFi Positioning System) for locating the computers. The coverage of Skyhook WPS is usually very accurate in most part of North America, Europe, Australia and parts of Asia. Skyhook is constantly improving their geo-mapping database for other areas in the world. However, it’s a huge task and it takes time. You can check the WIFI coverage in your area here. A quicker way to improve the accuracy now is to submit the location of your wi-fi access points to Skyhook. This would benefit all who uses Skyhook for location based applications including JuniorWatch. The more people submit locations, the more accurate the locations will be for that area. |
What is the JuniorWatch tray icon for? |
| The tray icon on the Windows task bar shows that JuniorWatch client is running. It also prevents abusive anonymous usage of the software to spy on a legitimate computer user without his or her knowledge. Currently only paid users with verified identify have the option to hide the tray icon. We have parents turning the icon off, and we have parents leaving it on letting the kids know they are being monitored. Free user's identity can't be verified and as a result the tray icon is always displayed. |
